Srha Asghar files an FIR against man who sexually harassed her  | The Express Tribune

Actor Srha Asghar, who was recently a victim of sexual harassment, has filed a first information report (FIR) against the culprit, identified as Asim, alleging that he had tried to sexually harass her.

As per police sources, the unfortunate incident took place on August 1 when the actor had gone to the market to run a few errands. Srha has filed the FIR at the Shah Faisal Police Station on the complaint of her husband, Umar Murtaza.

In Srha’s statement that she gave to the law enforcement agency, she claimed that a person started following her on the way home and catcalling her at the same time. She further elaborated for the police that the man followed her to her home and tried to touch her inappropriately due to which her clothes had been torn.

As per Srha’s statement, she immediately rang her doorbell and reached out to her husband, who was at home, for help. This resulted in a fight between her husband and the suspect. Together, Srha’s husband and her neighbours were able to take the man to the police station.

The actor also expressed her disappointment, via her Instagram story, over journalists and media outlets seeking interviews in order to gain ratings and viewers. Her post read, “I want every media person to stop messaging me about the incident, shame on them for calling me and my husband continuously for an interview for your ratings! And shame on the news channel who attached all the personal info with the incident! We are safe, Alhumdullilah!”

Srha Asghar tied the knot with Lala Umer Murtaza in December 2020 and in December 2022 the couple was blessed with a baby boy. As for Srha’s career, her acting in dramas Zindaan, Babban Khala Ki Betiyan, Rishtay Biktay Hain and Ek Sitam Aur were commended.
