Will Cole Palmer be Chelsea’s Player of the Year? – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea are into the final stretch of the season now. There’s plenty of time for players to rise and fall and to turn a good season into a great one (or the other way around), but with awards being voted for soon at both league and club level, it’s already time to start thinking about who will be favourites for a potential individual accolade.

Cole Palmer is a Phenomenon

Whether it’s player of the year, young player of the year, players’ player of the year or whatever, there’s one front-runner who is miles ahead of the rest. If you like backing favourites, slam your mobile casino no deposit free bonus and whatever else you have down the back of your sofa on Cole Palmer.

Everything is on his side – the stats are phenomenal, the highlights are great, and the story is perfectly set up: he left a comfy situation at Man City to take a risk at Chelsea, and it’s paid off hugely. People will love that narrative when it comes to deciding who this season’s young stars have been.

If you fancy more of a risky option, and think that someone can make a late charge to unseat Palmer from his throne, there are a few options to choose from in the squad right now who still have the potential to end the season strong enough to compete with him.

Malo Gusto has stepped up

Malo Gusto has been brilliant since the turn of the year, and seems to really be building some hype, gaining recognition from fans of other clubs for his impressive form. He will certainly be in the mix for the Premier League’s young player of the year if he continues this form until May.

Conor Gallagher will be in the mix for Chelsea’s player of the year award too, without doubt. He’s a fan favourite and while he doesn’t get stats like Palmer, his consistent performances have been the glue which held this side together at times this season. He’s too old for the young player type awards now, but will certainly be in the mix for the club’s player of the year, and likely a few others.

Plenty of others have had nice games or patches of form along the way, but the fact that it’s a struggle to go beyond these three to find others who have been good all year shows how much of an up and down campaign it’s been for Chelsea as a whole.
